Since 2014
BIG Film & Entertainment Alliance was founded in 2014 and exists to serve organizations like digital post-production, small stages/studios, lumber, hospitality and lighting – companies with a clear presence and commitment to Georgia. BIG stands for Based In Georgia, Businesses Investing in Georgia and Building Infrastructure in Georgia. Georgia is BIG on opportunity for support businesses and job growth.
Originally the Georgia Studio & Infrastructure Alliance, the new name reflects the maturing and growing entirety of the entertainment and creative economy in the state. Working closely with other organizations in Georgia, we advocate for progressive policy for film and entertainment businesses – our members.
Members of BIG serve the industry in a variety of ways, including providing studio space, camera equipment, visual effects and post-production services, HVAC, power equipment, truck and car rentals and building materials — and all have invested in the long-term success of the state’s growing production business.
BIG represents Georgia businesses to the General Assembly and other state entities dealing with the regulation of the entertainment industry. Via partnerships and relationships with other advocacy organizations, the Georgia Film Academy and Georgia’s Department of Economic Development, BIG works to facilitate further investment in workforce development programs and job creation for member companies.
A key initiative of BIG is sharing stories about Georgians building careers and changing their lives through employment and opportunity in the state’s entertainment and creative economy.
